Since its humble beginnings in 2008\, this initiative has grown into a province-wide effort\, with volunteers from over 100 communities pitching in to make a difference. In 2025\, we’re excited to be part of this incredible event once again! \nHere’s how you can get involved and help make a real impact: \nHow You Can Participate:\n\nReceived a Donation Food Bag? Great! Fill it with nutritious\, non-perishable food items (think healthy\, with minimal added sugar\, salt\, or unhealthy fats) and leave it on your porch by 9 AM on Saturday\, September 20. Our volunteers will swing by to collect it!\nDidn’t get a Donation Food Bag this year? No worries! You can still drop off non-perishable food items at your nearest Save-On-Foods on Thursday\, September 18 and Friday\, September 19\, or directly at the Central Okanagan Food Bank (Kelowna or West Kelowna) anytime we’re open.\n\nAnother Way to Help: Monetary Donations\nMonetary donations are a powerful way to support the Food Bank. By pooling donations\, we can purchase items in bulk through our strong partnerships with local stores—allowing us to stretch every dollar further.
