2024 Charitable Donation Deadline Extended

The Government of Canada has extended the deadline for 2024 charitable donations to February 28, 2025, allowing contributions made during this period to qualify for 2024 tax receipts. There’s still time to nourish community and feed hope in the 2024 tax year.

“We’re grateful for the flexibility this extension offers donors,” says Trina Speiser, Director of Development at the Central Okanagan Food Bank. “The holiday season puts enormous pressure on our resources as we strive to ensure that families, children, and seniors don’t go hungry. Immediate donations are critical to bridging the funding gap and supporting the community through this vulnerable time.”  Between the Canada Post strike of late 2024 and high demand on COFB, we need your kind support to continue our essential programming more than ever.

Donating now ensures that COFB can continue to meet the urgent needs of our community. Community support helps provide nutritious meals to individuals and families, sustain essential services for the most vulnerable, and deliver programs that empower people with the skills and resources they need for a brighter future. By giving now, you help bridge critical funding gaps and ensure we can make an immediate and lasting impact.

We are deeply grateful for the generosity of our community, which directly impacts the lives of thousands of individuals and families who rely on our support. Together, we can continue to overcome challenges and ensure the Central Okanagan remains a place where everyone thrives.
