Fight Hunger, Spark Change

In a world where many battle against hunger and food insecurity, it is heartwarming to witness companies taking a stand and making a positive impact. The Central Okanagan Food Bank (COFB) wishes to express our deepest gratitude to Food Banks Canada and Walmart Canada. Their unwavering commitment to fighting hunger has brought forth an incredible campaign called Fight Hunger Spark Change. This initiative has not only raised funds for food banks across Canada but has also brought communities together; ignited compassion; and instilled hope in the hearts of countless individuals.

Employees and Managers of the Kelowna and West Kelowna Walmart stores worked consistently throughout the campaign to collect funds for the Central Okanagan Food Bank. Through the united effort of Walmart’s customers, who generously donated at checkout, along with the company’s contributions, the total amount of funds raised for the COFB was $32,133.06. These funds have been instrumental in supporting food banks’ operations, enabling us to distribute essential food supplies to those in need. The impact of this support cannot be overstated, as it provides nourishment and relief to individuals and families who would otherwise go hungry.

By mobilizing their employees, customers, and local organizations, Walmart Canada has brought together individuals from all walks of life, creating a sense of solidarity in the fight against hunger. The campaign has provided a platform for people to join hands, pool resources, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those facing food insecurity.

Walmart’s unwavering dedication to combating hunger is commendable, and their team members’ efforts have touched the lives of countless individuals across Canada. As we express our heartfelt thanks to Walmart Canada and our local stores, let us also remember that the fight against hunger is an ongoing battle, and our collective support is vital. By working together, we can create a world where no one goes to bed hungry, and every individual has access to the nourishment they need to thrive.
